Campaign Creation
New Campaigns can be created by pressing the "Create a Campaign" button on the Sales Platform Home page. The campaign creation tool will walk you through the steps needed to create a new campaign.
Existing draft campaigns can also be edited by clicking the Edit button from the Sales Platform Home page. If a campaign has been submitted to the network, it will be viewable but no longer available for directly editing on the Sales Platform. For assistance with a submitted campaign, please contact the network directly.
Get Started
The Get Started step is used to enter basic information about the campaign. The following fields are available:
- Agency and Advertiser: for agency user accounts, the agency will be pre-selected and the list of advertisers will list those advertisers that are linked to your agency. For direct advertiser accounts, the agency field will be inaccessible and the advertiser will be pre-selected for the advertiser your account is linked to.
- Campaign Name: a mandatory field for the name of the campaign
- Custom Campaign ID: an optional field for entering a custom ID that can be used to internally track this campaign
- Start Date: the start date of the campaign
- End Date: the end date of the campaign
- Product Protection: select a product protection category from the category dropdown and press the "Add Category" button to add it to the campaign. A minimum of one category must be selected, and a maximum of two categories can be selected.
- If you do not see a matching category in the dropdown, select "Other"
- Campaign Focus: text can be entered in the Campaign Focus field to have the system automatically generate a list of products that match the Campaign Focus, making it quick and easy to build line items for the campaign
All mandatory fields are marked with a red asterisk.
Press Next when ready to advance to the next section.
Note: once the advertiser, start date, and end date (at a minimum) is defined, the system will automatically save the campaign on a periodic basis as it is being worked on. The X button next to the Printer icon in the upper right corner can be pressed to close the campaign. If it is closed before it is completed and submitted, it is saved as a draft and can be accessed from the campaign list on the Sales Platform Home page.
Campaign Setup
The Campaign Setup section is used to choose the formats being used by the campaign, and to define additional information for each format that will be used. Digital lines can be created now, and linear audio, play by play sports, and more will be added soon. To select a format, check on the corresponding checkbox, which will bring up additional fields to fill out.
Digital
- Impression Goal: for entering the impression goal of the campaign
- Budget: for entering the target budget (in gross US dollars) of the campaign
- Ad length: choose the primary ad length (in seconds) for this campaign.
- Products that are displayed will be filtered based on the allowed ad lengths and the chosen ad length
- It is possible to customize the ad length for individual line items on a later step
Press Next when ready to advance to the next section.
Product Catalog and Line Creation
Catalog
Lines are created from the Product Catalog view, which displays each available product along with information about each product.
If a "Campaign Focus" was entered on the Get Started section, a list of matching picks will be displayed in the "Picks for you" row when on the Catalog view, Category sort option.
More information can be seen about each product by clicking the Info button in the upper left corner of the product image.
Lines can be automatically created by pressing the "Autopick all" button near the top of the page. This will automatically pick products from the available catalog items that match either the Campaign Focus (when defined) or from the Featured section or from other available products. After the "Autopick all" button has been used once to generate lines for a campaign, pressing it again will clear the existing lines and re-generate new lines.
Individual products can be added by clicking the checkbox in the lower left corner of the product image. They can also be deselected by unchecking this checkbox.
As products are selected and lines are added to the campaign, the system automatically allocates impressions to the lines and keeps a running tally of the total ordered impressions and total campaign cost at the top of the page. If the total ordered impressions or total campaign cost ever exceeds the target impression goal or budget, a yellow warning sign icon will be shown next to the corresponding value.
A campaign report can be created by pressing the Printer icon. The Campaign report consists of a summary section, charts of the projected impressions and cost (using a daily average), and a recap of the details for each line item.
Once lines have been added to a campaign, it can be finalized by pressing the Summary/Submit tab or by pressing the Review button.
Before finalizing a campaign, optionally, the individual lines can be viewed by pressing the "Lines" button.
Lines
The Lines view shows the individual lines that have been added to a campaign.
Digital Lines
For each digital line, the following is shown:
- Info: click the info button to see the product information popup for that product
- Line: the auto-assigned Line ID
- Product: the product name
- Ad location: the ad location name for the selected product/ad location
- CPM: the CPM for the product/ad location
- Length: the ad length. This is a dropdown field that is populated with a list of allowed ad lengths for the selected product, and it can be changed when other ad lengths are available.
- Start date and end date: the date range uses the campaign start and end date. These dates can be edited on the Lines view, but only within the allowed campaign start and end date range. To extend the start date and/or end date of a campaign, it must be edited on the "Get Started" tab
- Impressions: the system automatically allocates impressions from the campaign impression goal for each line as the lines get added to the campaign. However, the automated allocation can be overridden by typing in an impression goal for the line in the Impressions field.
- Calculated Impressions: this shows the automatically calculated impression goal for a line. When the impression goal for a line is manually edited, the "Calculated Impressions" gets set to the new manually entered impression goal.
- Line cost: the line cost is calculated using the line impression goal and CPM. Gross dollars are displayed.
- Note: a note can be added for any line by clicking the word bubble icon, typing text into the notes section, and then pressing OK. Lines with a line note will have a dark word bubble icon to indicate a note has been entered for it.
- Delete: a line can be deleted by clicking the trash can icon.
Summary/Submit
The Summary/Submit section is for reviewing a campaign before submitting it to the network. There are three sections:
- Summary: the summary section consists of a summary of the campaign, and a summary of the line items
- Chart: for digital lines, the chart section graphs the projected impressions and projected cost by month, quarter, and year
- Notes: the campaign notes section can be used to enter special campaign instructions that will be pushed along with the campaign to the network
After reviewing a campaign, if it's ready to submit to the network, press the Submit button. This will bring up a confirmation message. When confirmed, the campaign will be submitted to the network. A confirmation email will be sent to the submitter with a PDF copy of the campaign.
Campaigns that have been submitted through the Media Sales Platform will be reviewed by the network team before being approved. Changes may be necessary due to inventory requirements and other requirements.
